Burgers!
It’s back to the grill again today! My family always loves a good burger. This recipe is one our son found and tried for us. He’s becoming an expert griller, which will come in handy for him when he heads off to his freshman year of college in just a couple of weeks.
1 and ½ lb. of ground chuck
1 tbsp catsup
1 tsp crushed basil
½ tsp kosher salt
½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp hot sauce, more or less depending on taste
½ tsp coarse grind black pepper
Cheese (optional)
Hamburger buns
Any condiments you like
Shape into patties. Grill over high heat until done, about 8 to 10 minutes for medium. During the last minute of grilling, you can place a slice of cheese (any kind) or each burger. We like to toast our buns on the grill, too.
Whatever you do, don’t leave out the Worcestershire. It tastes great on beef. Many years ago, there was an excellent steak restaurant in our town. I always thought they had a really special marinade, but when it closed, I found out the chef only used Worcestershire to marinate the meat!
