Chocolate Fudge Pie
I think pie has to be one of the all time great desserts. It’s not nearly as much trouble as making a cake, but just as good. And nothing beats a great chocolate pie. Here’s an easy fudge pie I’ve relied on for years. It tastes very much like a fudgy brownie. It’s great with whipped cream (Cool Whip is fine) and even better with vanilla ice cream!
Chocolate Fudge Pie
1 stick of butter or margarine
4 tbsp of cocoa
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
½ cup of chopped pecans or walnuts
Melt the butter. Add the cocoa and stir until mixed well. Combine the sugar, eggs, vanilla and chopped nuts. Add to butter/cocoa mixture. Pour into an unbaked pie shell. Bake at 325 degrees for about 30 minutes or until filling is set. Chill before serving. Serve with your choice of toppings. For the wow factor, add a few strawberry slices to the dessert plate.
It’s also great without the nuts if you are allergic. If you want your filling to be a little denser, add a couple of tablespoons of flour. You can also substitute two squares of chocolate if you’re out of cocoa.
